School is almost done!

I just finished my last class weekend! I have one assignment left and I will then be done!! I will be a Master, and will create a title for myself. I think I'll require everyone to call me Master Kandice, it sounds very professional and intimidating! :-) Reflecting back on my school experience is kind of hard to do. I'm grateful to all the new friends and classmates I've met, and that I was able to go through this with others instead of doing an online program. One of my last classes made me reflect on my learning experience (actually, two did), and I was surprised by how much I've learned in my two years.
When I first started in the program, I really didn't know much about the library profession. I thought a librarian was what a paraprofessional is - the person who checks stuff out to people, shelves books, all the stuff that doesn't really require a lot of knowledge. Throughout the program I've gained a greater knowledge of the profession, and the different career paths, and what it entails. Before starting the program, I never would have gone into management because it seemed too intimidating, demanding, and stressful. While I'm only part time management, and not dealing with the full influx that the job entails, the taste I've had has given me a new found respect for management, and even the desire to give it a try. I also learned that I enjoy teaching. When I got my bachelor's in history, everybody asked me if I wanted to teach, and I said I would never want to do that. Now I love training new employees, and teaching the different platforms required for the school ePortfolio program.
There is so much more to what I've learned, but I won't bother you with the details that you will no doubt find boring. Needless to say, I'm very happy that I got to experience the program, and now have two jobs that I love.
