Not much is going on for me right now. I didn't get the Library Tech job, which was really sad. The only other job I've heard from is the Post Office. I have taken a basic post office/clerical test to make sure I'm not an idiot (and I scored decently well on that), and I have to take a typing test on Monday. Essentially I'll be taking a test to see how fast I type, and at what consistency, and it will take about a half hour. It's a little frustrating to have to take time off of work to do it, but so long as something more comes of this, I'll be okay. This job doesn't have benefits, which is kind of weird considering it's a federal position, but I'll take what I can get. I'll get my own benefits if I have to. I've applied for dozens of jobs, and so far I've only heard back from two of them. It's rather discouraging, but I'm trying to keep my spirits up.
My apartment contract is up August 8, and so I've been trying to get as much stuff down to my parents so we can get everything moved in one trip. I think we'll be able to get everything to fit, but the problem is that some of the stuff is big, and some of the stuff is awkward. One of the annoying things about moving out is that I have to be out by 10am. Not cool. It just means that I'll have to start getting everything packed sooner so we'll be able to get everything out on time. Luckily I have awesome parents who are willing to come up and help. They're also willing to let me live with them till I can get a job and get my feet under me again. Like I said, awesome parents. If anybody wants to help me get whatever possessions I have left into a truck or car early on a Saturday morning, let me know. ;-)
Not much to report otherwise. My Pioneer Day weekend is being spent at my parents instead of Las Vegas, which is safe since I don't know if I'll be employed after the next two weeks, but I would have loved to have gone. I would have finally been able to do dinner at Excalibur, which I've been told I need to go to. That was one of the main reasons I wanted to go. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to go when it isn't so hot down there. I've decided that I'm a warm place type of person, not hot. I would love to live somewhere where it's in the 70s or 80s all the time. Just need to get connections and find a job to pay me the big bucks to live in San Diego, or something. Ah, dreams. Also it's great being at my parents, b/c I get awesome food. I get leftover lasagna and we're having Swedish meatballs for dinner tomorrow! I bought my first pair of hiking shoes since I'm supposed to be going camping at the end of September, which I'm stoked for. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
