Shopping!

I know, everybody's favorite topic! Normally I'm not a fan of shopping. I'm too tall or too long to easily find things that fit me the way it should and in a way I'm comfortable with. But this last month has been fun for me. I went to Ross awhile back and bought a dozen shirts for about $70. They're all cute, and I found a shirt style I like so I bought it in 6 different colors. That was the goal for this trip, finding shirts and finding color. It felt like my wardrobe was pretty boring and bland, so it was fun to liven it up with some bright colors.
My next shopping trip was last Saturday. I wanted to exchange some jeans I had bought when I was still losing weight (not that that has stopped!). I was there for over an hour just trying on jeans! Did I mention I hate shopping because it's hard to find the right fit? I ended up only returning one pair and buying another two. I also bought two elbow length sweaters because I'm always freezing at church (I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but they had the A/C on in the WINTER!). The sweaters were easy, the jeans - I'm pretty sure I tried on at least 15 pairs, if not more. I found I could fit into an 8 if I didn't mind having a noticeable muffin top (I do, just in case you were wondering), and I fit into a 10 much more easily. It can still be a little tight, but I'm confident I'll lose the necessary weight, or just stretch out the jeans till they fit more comfortably. The whole reason I decided to finally get the jeans was a) Express changed their exchange policy, so I would have to do an exchange rather than just getting a gift card and b) the jeans I wear now get loose after one or two wears. Definitely needed to buy new pants. To make sure I didn't wonder if I should return them, I made sure to wash them so I no longer had the option. I wore a new pair today, and I looked good! It's nice having new clothes, it brightens the day (at least for me).
The other purchase I made was at work. Since we were discarding so many books, and I was one of the people pulling them off the shelf, I got first look at what was going. I'm pretty sure I picked up at least 2, if not 3, dozen books. I brought a decent sized box home, and there were still books that didn't fit. I've been slowly bringing those home since I don't want to kill my back trying to take them all home on the bus. I've picked up classic literature (greek tragedies, Twain, London, etc.), religious books, history books, cultural books, philosophy. I have no idea when I'll read them, but I'm sure happy to have them! Pretty sure I about doubled my library collection.
