School is moving along. I'm almost a month into my last semester, and so far so good. I'm a little behind, but not so far behind that I won't get caught up. But right now I'm focusing more on getting graduation set up as well as the potluck for the end of the semester. These are fun things, and while the topics for classes are interesting, they're not as fun. I'm actually ahead in one of my classes, which is a nice change. I hope to be able to get and stay caught up in my other classes. There is a lot of reading involved, as usual, but the end is in sight. I have a lot of research to do for my capstone class, and I think it's kind of funny to be putting together an ePortfolio when it is something I've been teaching at SLCC for a couple semesters now. I had my first class yesterday, my management class, and it is much smaller. There are six or seven of us in the class, and being smaller makes the class more a discussion than a lecture, and the comments are more specific. It's great that we're all comfortable with each other and can speak openly.
Work is going well. We're finally fully staffed, which is nice. For a week or so, I got to work a midshift to make sure there is enough coverage at the front desk, and it was nice having my evenings free. Starting tomorrow I will got back to a normal work schedule (the last couple weeks had holidays, so there was some shifting in the scheduling then). I will have my Monday nights free to go to FHE, and the rest of my scheduling is pretty good. I have several projects that I'm working on right now, and I look forward to getting them done and learning more stuff and taking on more projects. I remember when the idea of being in management terrified me, and now I look forward to what it can teach me.
