Rock Band Live Concert

Last night I went to the E-Center for the first time to see The Cab, Plain White T's, Dashboard Confessional, and Panic at the Disco with Kent. This was my first time seeing any of them, and my first time at the E-Center. I'm glad the E-Center wasn't very big, so any seat you got was a good one. I'll post pictures later.
We got to the concert a little after it had started because we went to dinner. We missed probably the first half of the first act, The Cab. I have never heard of The Cab, which is no surprise because they're all a bunch of 19 year olds. They sounded okay, but it was a concert, so it was hard to understand the lyrics.
The Plain White T's were awesome! I did some research before the concert, and they have about 5 albums (I thought they only had two), and I think I will have to invest in some albums. They were fabulous. The lead singer wore a dark suit of some kind (kind of from the 50s), and white socks!! It immediately grabbed my attention, but for some reason I wasn't appalled. I agreed with Kent that if anyone were to do that in normal life I would be very disappointed and probably make some comments. I really only know one Plain White T's song, Hate (I really don't like you), and they saved that for last. I had a blast, and I went a little crazy with the song.
Between Plain White T's and Dashboard Confessional they had two teams play Rock Band 2. They had several booths set up outside the arena, and if you were good enough you could play on stage, or something like that. I wasn't quite sure how that worked out. Anyway, one was pretty good, and the second group FAILED!! It was really funny seeing them do that on stage. Dashboard Confessional was a lot better than I thought they would be. I only know a few songs, but for the most part those were slow. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to hear something faster. They have great stage presence, and they were a lot of fun. They really engaged the audience. The only song I really knew was Vindicated, and even though it's not my favorite, I sang along. At the end they brought on The Cab and played a popular song that I've heard before but I'm not familiar with. In fact, I think it was one of the Rock Band songs that was played on stage earlier. They were really great, and if they ever came to Utah again, I wouldn't be opposed to see them.
Between Dashboard and Panic they had another set of Rock Band groups. The first one barely passed the song, but the other group did Livin' On a Prayer (Bon Jovi), and I sang my heart out. For the longest time that was one of my favoritest songs. So it was fun. Panic at the Disco was okay. I have to admit I was greatly disappointed in their performance. The sound wasn't very good, meaning you could barely hear the voices, much less understand what they're saying. Because of that, it was really hard to figure out if I knew the song they were playing. One thing of note, one of the guitarist looks like a 14 year old boy, and when you see him, you're not sure if he's a guy or a girl, or how old he is. So because the sound sucked, and the music/noise was too loud, it was really hard to get into the music. I think I knew about four of the songs, but I could only figure that out with three of the songs. One I knew I knew, but I couldn't figure out what song it was, and I never really liked that song.
All in all it was a really fun concert. I got some good shots of the bands, some crazy shots of Kent and I, and the atmosphere was fun. My favorite of the night was either Plain White T's or Dashboard Confession, and I can't decide which I liked more. Both were great performers. But I'm pretty sure most of the crowd was between the age of 13-16. It's times like this that makes me realize I'm aging, and not necessarily in a fun way. And I think I plugged my ears more because of girls screaming than the loud music (which believe me was plenty loud). The concert didn't start till 7, and it ended by about 10:30ish, maybe a little earlier. I didn't get home till 12:45, and I had to get up for work this morning. Needless to say, I'm really tired.
Oh, by the way, apparently if I had bought the tickets online within four or five hours of the concert starting, I would have been able to buy them for 75 cents instead of $30! I could have made a killing! Oh well, the concert was fun, and I don't regret going. I even bought my first concert shirt ever. A guy was going through the restaurants selling them for $20. I don't know if I got ripped off or not, but the shirt seems to be decent quality.
I'm so glad today is Friday, and that I don't have school. I'm working a full day, and I'm glad I won't have to really focus on translating Latin or something.
