This week is the start of the NCAA. Normally I wouldn't care, but USU made it this year. I was very excited for the game today, which caused me to be about 15 minutes late to class. I went to the Alumni House to watch the game, but I should have gone to the Hub where there were tons of screaming and yelling students. As it was, there were maybe 12-15 people at the house. Anyway, I can really get into sports when I'm enjoying myself, and I tend to be rather vocal. Any time I felt like saying something about the game I generally tried to check myself, but that didn't always work. I seemed to entertain my fellow student workers rather well, but I don't care. Unfortunately we lost to Marquette, a school from Wisconsin. The game in and of itself was good, even though USU was losing for most of it. The only frustrating thing is that there were one or two calls that were stupidly called/not called by the ref's, which was very frustrating. If those calls had/hadn't been called, there's a good chance USU would have won by one point, instead of losing by that. We made some great shots which got even the dull group I was with to cheer and shout. Sadly, all three Utah teams that have played yesterday and today have lost.
My office is doing a competition on who will get the most team wins, or whatever those things are called. Each person had to give a candy bar for the pot, and the person who guessed the most wins will get the pot. I didn't join in because I don't know enough about basketball to make it worth my while. But it's fun to be at work and to stop what I'm doing so I can write the winners on the master copy and highlight the sheets that guessed the correct winner. This tournament is giving me ample opportunity to slack of slightly at work, and I am enjoying it. Sadly, I don't work till 10am on Monday, so I'm sure all the winners will be written and highlighted by the time I get to work. It's fun though to follow the games, even though I honestly don't care who wins anymore.
