I've had a busy month, I can't believe it's almost the end of September, the beginning of fall, almost the end of the year! Work has been the same, with a couple of people leaving the library. I'm constantly trying to stay busy, and I hope to begin learning how to work at the reference desk in the near future. I heard about a job posting, through my academic adviser, for an archiving assistant position about five minutes from my house. I sent in my resume, and had an interview on Friday afternoon. I think I was the one of the last, if not the last, interview for the position. They said mine was the longest interview (which I think is a good thing), and they hope to make a decision sometime this week. The person hired will start the following week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because I REALLY want the job. It's part time, but the pay is great, and so is the experience. Not only would I get more archiving experience, I would also do reference, and continue to have front desk experience. It's a foot in the door, which is pretty hard to get in this particular field. There is just a little bit of a scheduling problem. If I get the job I hope to keep both, but if I have to make a choice I know which one it will be.
On a different note, I decided to get a new hairstyle this past week. It's taking some getting used to, and I haven't decided what I think about it. I'm not going to post a picture yet because I'm hoping to be there for most first views of my hair. I'll probably post something in the next week.
