I have continued to learn more and more at work. The tasks I've been assigned, I'm pretty much doing on my own. I'm in charge of the lending portion of Interlibrary Loans, and I think I've gotten the hang of most aspects of the job. There are still a few things I haven't done, so I'm sure I will have more to learn when stuff comes up.
I'm also in charge of deposits now. Have I mentioned that I love playing with money? I used to be a cashier at Sam's Club and my favorite part of the job was counting my till at the end of the shift. If I didn't hate math so much, I could have been an accountant and been okay with that. It took awhile to get the logins needed to run the reports for this, and there were still a few kinks to figure out once I was able to get in. I did my first solo depositing on Saturday. I think I did everything right, but I won't find out until I get to work. It's fun getting more and more responsibilities, it's nice to know that I have enough stuff to keep me busy during my shifts and that I'm helping.
I've taught a few ePortfolio classes now, and while my presentation needs work, I'm getting the hang of things. The classes run for the first five or so weeks of the semester and I'll be teaching twice a week until the last week. If it's like last semester they'll offer classes the last few weeks of the semester for the procrastinators.
I'm still learning how to be a supervisor. I can give tasks and reminders, but I'm still not quite comfortable with giving reprimands or warnings. There are some things at work that I'm not sure about, nor am I sure how to go about figuring out the answer. I guess I will have to tread lightly until I do.
