Work Blog

Yesterday was hell for me. Normally the task wouldn't be that bad, but I had a tough time. I help contribute to my work blog (http://libweb.slcc.edu/library-blog) with two other coworkers and yesterday was my turn. The first time I had to write I had an idea, so it was pretty easy and quick. Yesterday I had the hardest time thinking of a topic. My coworkers talked about the Sundance Film Festival and cool ways to recycle books, and I had nothing. At first I thought about giving a recap of the State of the Union address since it had happened the previous night. I decided against it because it's never good to talk about politics, at least I don't think so. So I decided to talk about a topic that I had read about recently: Dante Alighieri. I've never actually read The Divine Comedy, but I have read snippets here and there. It's on my to-do list, once I have enough time to focus all my attention on the book and trying to understand what he's saying.
Anyway, I had a lot of research to do because I only knew the barest about him. So I looked online and checked the books we had in the library and got a decent entry going. I was about to post when I accidentally hit a button that changed the page and deleted everything I had worked about 4 or so hours to write! Blah, I was ready to throw something, possibly at the computer that I don't own. So I managed to put together a slightly better entry within 45 minutes, including links and videos. I finished roughly 5 minutes before the library closed and had taken a break only to fill out the cash box deposit form for the day. I still had a few kinks to work out, so I emailed one of my coworkers to get some help. It took me about an hour or so to calm down from the frustration of accomplishing very little for the shift. I had about half a dozen things I wanted to get done yesterday, and the only thing I accomplished was a blog that isn't well publicized (as far as I know), and have no idea if anybody even reads it! Luckily my coworker emailed me today and told me how to fix the problem, and then fixed it for me! Here is a little sample of what I included in my entry.

Enjoy!!!
