Happy day!!

For the month of January I decided to sign up for a challenge the local news station was putting on. The goal was to lose 10 lbs in a month, with several prizes that can be won in a raffle for those who succeeded. It was a good idea, and prizes are always a nice incentive to lose weight. At the start of the month I found out I wanted to lose 19 lbs, so I figured this would be a good way to start. I have turned into a somewhat lazy person (unemployment, then employment and grad school can do that to you). I knew I wouldn't be able to do a workout, I just don't have that kind of motivation, so I decided to just watch my portions and exercise as I could.
My first week was excellent, I lost 5 lbs!! I figured I was off to a great start. Of course, just like The Biggest Loser, a great week generally means the next week won't be so great. I really didn't work out much, maybe once every week or so. I weighed myself yesterday, and in 4 weeks I lost 8 lbs!! It was a very great feeling, and I celebrated by playing DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for 40 minutes. It was a great workout, and the songs were upbeat enough to keep me happy the rest of the day.
Let's just hope the other 11 lbs will come off just as easily, but I'm sure it will require a lot more work and dedication. I'm open to ideas!!

When I was trying to lose weight I just counted my calories. I had a set amount I could have a day and that is all I ate. So if I had junk food I had to cut something out. I also tried to work out. Even if it just was going on a walk everyday. I lost about 15 pounds in 2 months. But then I got pregnant and stopped trying to lose it.
