VOLLEYBALL!!!!

In case you can't tell, I love to play volleyball. It's been at least a year since I last played, and my ward (church congregation) had volleyball night on Friday. I ended up having to work later than usual, so I wasn't sure if I was going to go. But luckily one of my friends asked if I was going, so I decided to give it a whirl. We got there about an hour and a half after it started, but luckily people were still playing. So for the next two hours I had fun!
There was a good turn out, so much so that they split the gym in half to put up two nets. The people that were playing were a mix of beginners, regulars, and competitive people. I was slightly competitive, but not as competitive as I usually am, which is impressive (it may be because I still don't know a lot of people in my ward). It was fun bantering with the other team, and I got to meet a lot of people from the ward. There was healthy food (if you don't count the dip), other games for the non-athletically inclined, and music playing all night. I had so much fun!! I forgot that I am out of shape, and did some silly things. I dove several times, which would account for the bruised knees, although I always tried to land on my thighs. I also decided to randomly do squats, why not, I can handle it right?!?
Needless to say I have battle wounds from that night. I made things worse by rough housing the next day, and today I am sore from the neck down. It hurts to sit, lay down, stand, walk, raise my arms, everything. Doing my back stretches this morning didn't go as well as it normally does. I don't think I'll be doing anything exercise-wise for another couple of days. While it hurts, I'm glad I did it.
Isn't my forearm beautiful?!?
Here's a close up
Apparently I landed on my left knee more than I thought.

Dang! You bruise easily. I can't even remember the last time or even the first time I bruised like that. Good on ya for having fun and putting yourself out there!!!
