I found a place to live for the school year!!! And it's a place all my own!! I managed to luck out and rent a two bedroom basement apartment for $400/month, and that includes the utilities! And it comes furnished too!! I don't have to worry about somebody else using my stuff, eating my food (which never really happened to me a lot), and most importantly: I won't have to be frustrated and sometimes clean the mess they make!!!!!! This makes for a very happy Kandice.
Yesterday was a very good day for me. I found out that if I'm good and not a procrastinator, I won't have to fill out another form to graduate in the spring (I did it last fall, but things didn't work out) and I'll only have to pay a $10 fee to graduate!! This of course doesn't include the gown and graduation stuff I'll have to deal with later. Also, because I've decided to splurge on myself in housing, I decided to take out more money to help even out the costs, and hopefully to put a dent in the student loan I'm required to start paying back now (Grr non-Govt student loans, don't do them if you can help it). Obviously since I was able to get more money, I got things fixed so I could get the money. That's most of my concerns from the last post out the window! Yesterday was a very happy day for me. All this happened before noon too!!
So yesterday I cleaned out my car of luggage and the storage I had used it for while I was gone for the summer (like my laundry basket with clean clothes, laundry detergent, etc.).
Today was a not so fun day. I stayed up till 2am reading a good book (that's not the not so fun part), and I only got about 6 hours of sleep. I felt okay for most of the day, or I would have if I didn't spend all morning moving into my apartment. I managed to get all but a few things from the storage unit (random things that I remembered later in the day), and I got my food, movies, dvd player and tv, and most of my clothes unpacked. Needless to say my back isn't happy with me, and there's still a lot to be done. The apartment isn't a mess, but a guy used to live in it, and it's dirty enough. No offense to guys, but I definitely feel the need to clean just about every surface of the apartment. Oh, and there are spider traps all over the apartment, with quite a few spiders already caught. That and the discovery that I don't like being the only person in my apartment at night have made the move not seem like such a great idea.
So tomorrow I will finish cleaning everything (hopefully), get everything unpacked, and get all my unpacked boxes back to the storage unit. Although if I really wanted to, I could just stick it in my SPARE ROOM (I have a spare room, can you believe it?!?)!!!! It will be nice to have a place for people to crash if they need it, and the managers of the apartment are pretty much cool with anything I want to do.
Now I need to get some grocery shopping done. Blah.
