Welcome to Twin Falls

So the trip to the museum in IDAHO Falls didn't go quite as planned. There was a miscommunication either between my brain and my mouth, or somewhere else, because we ended up going to the wrong side of the state. I should have realized we were going in the wrong direction when we got on I-84, but apparently my brain wasn't functioning well yesterday. So we ended up going to Twin Falls instead.
It was still a fun trip. There was a line when we crossed into Idaho (Utah has done road work more recently than Idaho, so Utah was darker). We listened to music most of the way up, and critiquing a cousin-in-law's classification of what goes into a category, and onto a mix. I'm sorry, but Michael Jackson will NEVER EVER be considered Classic Rock, Classic Pop maybe, but never Classic Rock. We also saw an interesting sign for an exit, and we bursted out laughing because it was so ridiculous!
Apparently all the good names were taken?!? I mean, Idaho has adopted several city names (Paris, Moscow, Malta, etc.), so why couldn't they think of something a little more clever? Maybe this is what happens when they think of names on their own.
So we realized when we got to Twin Falls and looked at the directions that we were a little off. Since it would have taken 3 hours to get over to Idaho Falls, we decided to can the trip to the museum (we were thinking about going the next day, but Lorelei wouldn't have handled sitting for that long because of an infection), and decided to visit a childhood favorite: Perkins. The reason why it's a favorite is because they used to do bread bowls with their salad, and the bread was DIVINE! So we decided to experience it again (It was halfway between Twin Falls and Burley), and we were sorely disappointed. The place was practically empty, so you would think we would have excellent service. Not so much. On top of that, they no longer did the bread bowls with the salad. The food that we ended up getting wasn't that great either. You would think if you ordered a potroast with carrots and fries (I got to pick the two sides), they would put the fries on a separate plate, but no. The meat was dry, the roll tasted like it was a day or two old. On the plus side, they were selling slices of pie for 99 cents, and the pie was really good. I got a peanut butter silk piece and I couldn't finish it, it was so rich.
The drive back wasn't as rambunctious, but it was still fun. The kids were really good for about 98% of the trip, and by the time we got home, we were all exhausted. And we were home by 6ish! Oh well, it was a good trip with good conversation, good music, good laughter, and funny memories. I think I will be able to tell this story and always get a laugh out of it, even if I'm the only one laughing.

Who did you go with that had kids? And that sounded like a great adventure... even if it was a little off track!
