I realize my last blog wasn't so happy, but this one will be much better. I got into grad school!! I got my acceptance letter yesterday, which was very exciting. Now I just need to register for classes (apparently b/c I'm distance education I have to have a PIN to be able to register online, otherwise I have to fill out a long form) and find money to pay for school, so I don't have to get more student loans. If anybody knows of places I can check for grants and scholarships (outside of fastweb), it would be greatly appreciated.
While being unemployed really sucks, and quite frustrating, I have been able to read a lot more. I've probably read more in the last month or so than I did in the last school year or so (not including school related stuff). It's been kind of nice to have that back again. I've been averaging a book every day, or every other day, depending on how into the book I am. Of course, being cooped up inside isn't always so great, so I try to get out every once in awhile. But that generally means going for a walk around the neighborhood, going to the mailbox, or going out (either for shopping or to go to the library).
I did compete in my ward's regional volleyball tournament, and lost night we lost our last game. Co-ed is supposed to start next week, but I haven't gotten an email yet, so I have no idea what's going on. I'm sad to say I'm not as good at volleyball as I once was, but considering it's been about three or four years since I've played regularly, that isn't too shocking. I don't dive as much any more, which my knees thank me for, and I can serve overhand, but my back hates me by the end of the night.
I've been thinking about things I need to do, and here is what I've come up with so far:
1. Do laundry
2. Go to the library and pick up book #3 in the Charlaine Harris vampire series
3. Job hunting (do it every Tuesday and Friday like clockwork)
4. Mail a birthday card I've been meaning to send for the last week or so (procrastination is my friend)
5. Maybe go for a walk today if I have the time and energy
6. Once I pick up the books from the library I will probably spend the rest of the day reading the Charlaine Harris book, which I've been reading in a day (roughly 9-12 hours)
7. At some point I'm sure I will eat, but I'm happy to say my stomach has shrunk a little bit, so I don't eat as much as I used to, and I've figured out how to pace myself which is nice
8. If I'm on task I will start googling scholarship and grant stuff
9. If I'm really on task, I will try to see if there is a library willing to write a grant so I can have a scholarship for school.
10. I'm sure there are other things I need to do, but that's all I can think of for now.
