Chrismas and the Day After

Christmas was a good, relaxing day. I slept in till 10am, my dad made his awesome omelets, and the rest of the afternoon was spent watching Christmas movies. This year, since not all the kids came over for Christmas morning (one in Argentina, the other two married and spending with their spouses), we didn't even do gifts till about 5:00pm. It was a rather small Christmas this year, which was fine. John called from Argentina to regale us with tales of his adventures, and the other siblings came around 5-6pm for games and chatter. The day of Christmas has always been a relaxing day in my family. The feast is on Christmas Eve, and so we eat leftovers and treats the next day.
The day after Christmas was much more busy. I didn't do any shopping b/c there really isn't anything I want or need to buy. It's amazing how frugal you can be when you don't really have a lot of money. I used to buy tons of DVD's, and I couldn't tell you the last time I bought one. I love Express, but there isn't anything they have that I need, or desire to own. I haven't hit Ross in awhile, and there lies my only real temptation at the moment. Anyway, I went down to Orem, and hung out with friends. I got to see Sherlock Holmes, and it was FABULOUS!! I haven't read the book (which is on my to-do list, and the book is sitting in my room to be read), so I didn't have a problem with anything they did story-wise. Of course, I've been reading Victorian-era books, so there might have been a thing or two I would have commented on, but all in all, well worth watching. I then went to In-&-Out for dinner, and I have to say I wasn't impressed. I had it once in San Diego years ago, and I have to be honest, I think the whole meal was bland. The burger was okay, the fries were bland, and only the strawberry shake was good. Now that I have retried it, I don't have to worry about trying it ever again. I guess I'm more of a Crown Burger, Red Robin type of girl. Yum, it makes me hungry just thinking about those delightful burgers! Anyway, after that, I headed home. Of course I stopped in Daybreak to have some pie with other friends, and then went to their place where I played Rabid Rabbit (or whatever it's called) on the Wii for about four hours. I got home around midnight, and stayed up reading till 2:30. It was a marvelous day, and one I wouldn't mind repeating!
