I got called Monday around 6:30ish for a job interview at a Wellsfargo in Murray for yesterday. I hate sales, but I need a job, so I figure I can wing it if nothing else (if I get the job that is). Of course they schedule my interview for 10:30 in the morning, and of course West Jordan is covered in lake effect snow, and visibility isn't that great, in fact the roads are terrible. It took my dad over an hour to get from where we live (about 5600 W and 6600 S) to his work on 3500 S. Around 9am, when I looked outside, traffic was pretty much at a stand still, making me worred about going across the valley. It took me about 30 minutes to get to I-215, but thankfully the other side of the valley wasn't so bad, there was even sunshine! I managed to get to my interview about 10 minutes early. The interview went okay, I tried to have a good response for everything, but it only lasted about 8 minutes. That seems rather short to me for some reason, and at the end of it I find there are at least 14 other people being interviewed. I'll find out at the end of the week what their decision is.
I decided I wanted to go to the mall because I have a coupon for Bath & Bodyworks, which is always a great place to find gifts for people. Okay, one gift because I ran out of the thick moisturizer I use, and my skin is starting to suffer from it. Anyway, I get to the mall, and I allow myself to get sucked in by a sales person selling Dead Sea Salt stuff. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but then the guy decided to try to charm me. The nail stuff I was sold on, and he said I get a free refill whenever I finish with the stuff. Then he decided to show me some dermabrasion stuff, and I didn't really want to buy it, but he made a good "deal", although I doubt it was much of a deal. Needless to say, I spent $80 more than I had intended to yesterday. After that I made my purchase at Bath & Bodyworks, and then high-tailed it out of there.
Well, I get out to my car, and find I had left my lights on, and my battery was dead. I'm pretty sure I forgot to turn the lights off while I was in my interview too. On Monday, while I was driving a couple of places, the battery light came on, so I was worried my battery was dying. After 15 minutes of hoping that my car just needed to rest, I finally went back into Sears to see if there was someone to help me get my car jumped (I hate asking for help from strangers, especially since it was snowing, so I tried to talk my mom into coming and help, which of course didn't work). Anyway, the security guy at Sears deserves a medal, or something really nice for being willing to help me out so much. He called mall security to come jump my car (of course, they have rentals, and the little jumper wasn't powerful enough), so the security guy went and got one from the Auto Center, and he even checked out my car for me, just a once over type of thing. He then told me to get my battery tested at the Auto Center, which I wouldn't have thought of, so I was doubly grateful. Of course, when I get over there, I find out I have a bad battery, and I need to spend another $100 to get a new one. So, about 40 minutes later, I have a new battery, most of the snow is off my car, and the sun is shining.
I head home, and most of Murray is snow free on the roads, and the sun is shining. The roads aren't quite as clear in West Jordan, but at least it stopped snowing, and the roads were clearer. I was actually almost going the speed limit on some of the roads. Well, I got cocky on one of the roads, and wanted to pass someone. Of course one lane is always pretty clear while the other is closer to the side walk and not nearly as clear. So I try to pass, and I managed to pull a 360 spin across four lanes of traffic and safely stop in a side street, pretty much blocking the road. After cursing, and then saying thank you for nothing bad happening, I got myself righted and on the way home.
The rest of the day was uneventful, which I was grateful for. I applied to a lot of jobs, so hopefully something happens. I also didn't go to the gym because I wanted to finish applying for jobs, and I was out so long I didn't get to the job hunting until about 5:30. Thankfully my sister has been nice enough (or not motivated enough) to need a workout buddy, and her husband works late, so we started going to the gym last week. She's getting sealed in February, and wants to make sure she doesn't have to go up a dress size. So in the last week I've gone to the gym about four or five times, which is pretty good. I weighed myself last week, and I've lost 2 ilbs, of course that was in the morning, so I don't know how accurate that is.
Anyway, hopefully I'll find a job before school starts in January, or I'll be in something of a pickle. So if you hear of anything that I would be good at, please pass it along.
Oh, and the Christmas music was started last week, and it has a way of warming the heart. I love the Osmond Christmas Album the best!!
