I am an official, regular employee at Salt Lake Community College! I got the good news on Thursday and it was announced on Friday. I also got my fall schedule, which excites me! I'll be working in the mornings every day, and the latest I'll get off is 1pm! Of course, working 29 hours in the week means I'll be there relatively early in the morning, a little earlier than what I was doing during the summer. I'm also being given a little more responsibility, which is awesome!
One of the things we've been working on during the summer is to change the labels of books that are being moved. One of the campuses was closed, and the library is being split between the remaining locations, one of them being a new library at one of the campuses. There has been a push to get all the books relabeled for one location by August 18. We finished yesterday and started working on the books for another location yesterday.
I've also begun taking my iPod to work for when I do shelf reading. It can become rather boring and dull staring at book labels, making sure they are in order. I've been pleasantly surprised by how much the music helps the time by faster.
I've heard that the summer is a lot more dead than the other semesters. I'm excited to see how busy things will be with Fall semester. I hope the days will fly by, I mean it's already August! It also means I get to count down the days until my trip at the end of next month, which I'm so excited about!
