1. I am really competitive. This isn't news to those who know me, but today in swimming I wanted to start smacking people for not understanding common sense. We played gutterball, which is pretty self explanatory: you want to get a volleyball in the gutter of the other team and hold it there for three seconds. My team SUCKED at defense, and I can't be everywhere at once (I'm not being cocky, I've just had two semesters of gutterball experience).
2. I have decided I hate shopping. Grocery shopping is a necessity, but I'm trying to eat healthier, which means I can't indulge in my ice cream addiction very often, which just makes shopping depressing. I generally don't have patience for clothes shopping because I don't have the patience to go through racks of ugly styles, wrong fits, or wrong sizes. At Express I am currently a little too big for a 10 pant, but much too thin for a 12.
3. I hate it when I gain weight, and I don't realize it till I go shopping. It's very frustrating to learn that what once was a size 6 waist is now between an 8-10, depending on the style.
4. I miss reading. I don't have a heavy schedule at school or work, but by the end of the day I'm always tired, so I end up sitting in front of the TV and go for a different sort of entertainment.
5. Most of the shows that I watch every week that I'm addicted to, I can blame on someone else. How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) and Heroes is Kent, House and Grey's Anatomy is Krystal, and NCIS is my parents. I don't really keep up with Heroes and HIMYM, but if I have free time and the internet, I will catch up on that. Isn't it fun putting the blame of your laziness on someone else?!?
6. I really like Biggest Loser. It's on at the same time as NCIS, so I don't really watch it, but the episode made me tear up last night. For the same reason, I avoid watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I ALWAYS start to tear up with that show, if not actual tears falling down my face.
7. Girl's Night with a bunch of married people is actually a lot of fun. We meet up at 9pm, and play, chat, and generally eat something sweet till 12-1 or 2 am. I stayed in bed an hour longer than planned this morning, so hopefully we can switch it to Wednesday night so I can get a little more sleep in the morning.
8. I did a small workout yesterday, and my body still aches. I did 20 push ups and 60 crunches. My pecs are a little sore, but it's my abs that are still really sore. I use them in everything I do basically, so I constantly feel the burn. I guess no pain, no gain. I'm just not used to it anymore.
9. I'm actually trying to cook these days just so I have a more well-rounded, somewhat healthy meal these days. But I don't have a dishwasher, so cooking is a pain. I had dishes that I have cleaned since before New Years in my sink, and I didn't feel bad about them being there. But I started to need to use more dishes, so I finally asked the managers upstairs if I could use their dishwasher to clean the majority of my dishes. Result: I miss having a dishwasher in my apartment, not that I've really had one for the last 2 1/2 years.
10. I really love "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. I don't mind getting rick-rolled, so long as I get to hear the entire song. I really like the music video too. I saw a picture of him of either 2007 or 2008, and the man has aged well.
