Last Night

Last night was an interesting night. After work I went home and did a load of laundry and got ready for the Cache Valley Historical Society meeting. I've been hating my hair recently, so I decided before the event I would get my hair cut (it's the bangs, their too long and unmanagable). So I went to Hollywood Clips, which I've been going to the last several times because I have a coupon. The first two times I got the same lady: wonderful with hair, not nearly so good with her people skills. Last night I got a new girl who was very friendly, which was a nice change. When it comes to getting my hair cut, I generally like having slightly older people cutting my hair because they have more experience, but I realized last night that the younger people are the ones more likely to be up to date on what is in, and new techniques for cutting hair. Anyway, I told her the parameters (I only had 45 minutes to get my hair cut), and that I wanted my bangs and hair shorter. She added some layers, which I wasn't sure I wanted. But the final look was marvelous. It will take some getting used to because she had the layers slightly higher than I normally get. I've decided my hair looks slightly like KaDee Stricklands hair on Private Practice.

At the meeting, I didn't have to say anything, which was nice, and I got a little framed thing saying I received a scholarship. The planned program was about oral history about Logan Canyon. The activity they had us do was to draw our earliest memory of a tree. My rendoring was terrible, but it was a cherry tree in the back yard of a house I lived in Fremont, California. My memory could be a little off, but I think that's where it was. The presentation lasted too long for my taste, but it was a good one.
After the meeting I went over to Mer's place. Originally I was going to have her take a picture of me with my reward, something I could give to the parents and grandparents, but I had somebody do it after the presentation. So I spent over two hours visiting, giggling, and commisserating. Unfortunately, poor Cam had to suffer through it as well. Of course, the first half hour or so was spent playing with Sammy, who was refusing to go to sleep. Apparently he really REALLY loves me, because he likes to talk to me, which he doesn't seem to do a lot of. It's nice being so loved, and he was all smiles and giggles until Mommy was mean and pinned him down to get him to sleep. It was nice spending time with the whole fam damily. Lots of laughter, teasing, and inuendos that would seem weird to most people, but that's us! And they were nice enough to feed me and send some food home with me. That is my lunch for today. Yay for not having to make anything!
