Def Leppard/Poison Concert

This past week I had the pleasure of going to the Cheap Trick/Poison/Def Leppard concert at the USANA amphitheater. Unfortunately, they didn't allow cameras, and I wasn't properly dressed to sneak it in, so I don't have any pictures. I wish I did though. I had previously seen Cheap Trick at Rock Jam 2005, give or take a year. The day had been stormy and thundery, so the sound system was kind of having problems, so I wasn't impressed. This time I didn't hate them, they didn't suck, and the music still didn't excite me. But their playing was pretty good.
Poison was AWESOME!!!! I loved listening and watching them perform. I was surprised by how many of their songs I knew, and yes, the lead singer always wears a bandana or cow boy hat. They also had fire, which is always good. Def Leppard was fun, but since I knew more Poison songs, I think I liked them better. I was surprised by how many of Def Leppard's songs I didn't know, and didn't know was theirs (meaning I vaguely knew the song).
I went with the Hartley family, and felt a little bit like a 5th wheel, but it was great. I got to play with Sammy during most of Cheap Trick, and he was vastly more amusing than the group. Of course there were a couple of rocker guys around my age standing behind us, and they were entertaining as well. They had the spiky hair, eyeliner and mascara (maybe just the eyeliner), and looked like rockers. There were tons of people that came over and wanted to get their picture taken with them. They were fun to chat with, and Sammy couldn't stop staring at them. After the concert I realized, or more correctly I was informed that one of the guys was totally flirting with me. It's very frustrating to realize how out of the game I am. I haven't really done the whole meet some random guy at an event and start flirting with the potential of getting/giving a phone number in years (yes, it's been at least 3-5 years). As I was trying to leave the parking lot (took about 40 minutes, even though I waited about 20 to leave) I saw him drive by with a motorcycle, and I REALLY kicked myself for not paying better attention. He even sang to me a couple of times (granted, that's when EVERYBODY was singing along, but still). All in all, a well spent evening. I miss doing stuff like that more often.
