My birthday wasn't anything exciting, or glamorous, but it was enjoyable. I got a "birthday" dinner on Saturday after classes, and my siblings, grandmas, and an uncle were there. There was much food and enjoyment had by all. I got to play Mah Jong on my uncle's new toy with him, which was a nice excuse to not play 2 up, or Golf as I've heard it also called.
I got a second, "true", birthday on Monday, where I was given everything I wanted. I got my mom's homemade lasagna, which has yet to be topped by any restaurant thus far. I think it's the best, but I'm not biased at all . . . Not at all. Since my Mom had to spend all afternoon in the kitchen just for the lasagna, I didn't ask for my traditional german chocolate cake, and I got an ice cream cake instead. I also decided to do some shopping, so I bought some shirts and tank tops from Down East Basic Outfitter and some button up shirts from Express. I decided to buy some bold colors this time, so I now have two yellow shirts and a bright blue (I think teal) shirt. It will be interesting to see how I like these colors.
I like to think that yesterday I got another little birthday party. I'm a fan of free birthday stuff, so I've signed up with several sites to get coupons. Last night I met up with my best friend at Red Robin so I could use my free burger coupon. It was also nice b/c she lives in Logan, and is busy with her husband, babies, and getting ready to move, so I haven't seen her since the day after Christmas. We spent the dinner catching up, commiserating, and stating our distaste for the same things. It's how we bond, and it's WONDERFUL! While we may have opinions, and rather strong ones at that, we always make each other feel better and laugh. Needless to say, I'm a little sad that she's moving several states away. Anyway, the dinner was wonderful. We were talking so much, she didn't have much of a chance to finish her dinner, which just means she has yummy leftovers.
So while I didn't have a big party like last year, I had lots of little parties. Yay for good food, family, friends, and conversation.
