New Apartment

As you may have known, I graduated on the 2nd, and I've been half-heartedly looking for a job. Since I want to stay in Utah, finding a job related to my degree isn't so easy. Luckily the job I'm currently at, doing data entry at USU, is available till the end of summer. After that, I'll have to find another job. I'm hoping to find a job before August, so it works out for me. On a side note, I got a raise at work! It's not a big raise, but it will add up over time, which I'm looking forward to.
Anyway, I decided to move for the summer. It wasn't a hard decision to make considering the rent wasn't going down for the summer . . . and they had already leased the place. I spent several days looking for a place, and nothing seemed to be big enough. I mean, you go from having a two bedroom apartment completely to yourself to having roommates again. I'm hoping to get out and socialize more, but we'll see what happens. Back to my new apartment. I finally decided to get something close to campus that was decently cheap and giving me all the fixings. So I decided to get a room in a ten bedroom apartment. Crazy, I know. Going from no roommates to nine! But right now there are only three girls. I'm hoping it stays that way for the rest of the summer. I moved in mostly yesterday and part of today, and I'm completely done with the old apartment (unless I happen to get mail). I'll probably spend a lot of time in my room b/c it has a bathroom, a tv, and my laptop. The only thing I need is a fridge and I don't ever have to leave! Of course, that goes completely against my desire to have a social life. I've briefly met all of my roommates, although I haven't really met one. She just came down to the kitchen while I was moving stuff in.
Speaking of moving in, I love men! I've had three different guys help me with moving stuff to my new place, and I only knew one of them! The first guy was helping his daughter move in to the apartment, and I think he was bored, or getting antsy with nothing to do. He helped me move in half of my car load (I took in the other half of course). The second guy I think is the maintenance guy for the apartment, and he carried my big TV upstairs for me. The third guy to help me was the manager from my old apartment, and he carried up one of my heavy, awkward boxes. I'm so grateful for nice guys who are willing to help people out. Between yesterday and today, I've spent about 12 hours cleaning, packing, moving, and arranging. I spent about 8 hours yesterday just packing and moving, and my back was killing me. I took about a half hour break to go to Mer's house and beg to be fed since I didn't want to buy anything and I didn't have the energy to make anything myself. Bless her heart, she's always willing to feed me, and I'm eternally grateful. I had a healthy dinner of turkey sandwiches and carrots! Anyway, I got things squared away today, and I did three loads of laundry. Unfortunately, the lock on my door doesn't really work, so I worry about things being taken, not by my roommates, but they aren't always the best at making sure the doors are locked. It makes me nervous.
Since I've only run into my roommates, I don't know anything about them other than their names. One girl concerns me. Last night, after being exhausted from all the moving around, I tried to go to bed around 10am to get a good night's rest. One of the girls had a couple friends stop by, and wouldn't you know it, they stayed up till midnight gabbing, giggling, and talking loudly. I think I managed to doze off, but it didn't last long. I actually felt pretty rested after only six hours of sleep, which isn't normal for me. Of course with all the moving, I am bruised all over, scratches everywhere, and my back is killing me. I think with the number of times I walked up the stairs in the last 36 hours, I should have lost a pound or two.
I'm looking forward to a restful weekend hanging out at the parentals, and sleeping in a queen sized bed! And hopefully next week I won't have to take time off of work. Yay for a steady income (at least for another 2 1/2 months)!!
