I have broken yet another phone. This is apparently not my month for phones. I broke my first phone at graduation when I stood up with the phone on my lap, and it crashed to the concrete row in front of me. Amazing the phone still worked, but I'd broken one of the joints that allowed it to flip, and it was barely hanging on on the other side. Made it awkward to use the phone, but I was able to use it.
Well, a friend lent me one of his old phones that was a Nokia, which means they should have been indestructable. Well, as I was heading out to the gym last night, I had a lot of small things in my hands. I tried to extricate my sunglasses from that wad of stuff, and my phone fell out. When it hit the stairs, the back came off and the battery fell out. I put it back together, but it as of yet has not turned on. Luckily my tech smart friend is coming up, and he will either fix it, or I will have to upgrade my phone.
The downside to upgrading (I guess I could just buy a cheap phone) is that I'll be signed on for another two years. If my sister's husband keeps the job he's at, Krystal will cancel the family plan in about 1 1/2 years, which means I will no longer have the awesome deal of unlimited texts and a cheap phone plan. Granted, if I have to do an individual plan, it will be cheaper with T-mobile than with Verizon, although Verizon has better coverage. On the other hand, I only seem to have problems with my coverage between Logan and Perry, and at the end of the summer I will be out of the valley, so moving should solve that problem. There is also the possibility that I may leave the country to teach English, but there is no certainty with that one. It's just very frustrating that I've broken yet another phone after almost six years of never doing that.
