In 2008, HBO made a movie about an officer transporting a fallen marine home. It is a beautiful movie, and I'm glad I got to see it. If you are the type that gets emotional when you see the military being honored by the public at large like I am, then I would recommend you have a box of tissues and a tall glass of water nearby. I have been very blessed in my life to have never lost a friend or family member to war. I thank Heavenly Father every chance I get for the safety of those people, and for those willing to give their lives for their country. Ever since my little brother joined the Army Reserve, I have a new found respect for the military, it's always been there, but it became more real to me when someone I knew was in it.
Every time I see a movie, or commercial, or hear of people honoring and respecting those that have served, I always choke up. During my brother's two tours overseas, I always hoped that people were showing respect to my brother for what he was doing. Those that serve have my utmost respect and thanks. If you get the chance, send a note to someone overseas or stateside, and tell them thank you for what they're willing to do and give up. Memorial Day is coming up, so please remember your veterans, and please always keep those serving in your prayers.
