Weekend fun

Saturday was a busy day for me. I tried to get stuff done in Logan, and I got most of it done, before heading down to Provo for the weekend. I decided the dancing bug wasn't going to go away, so I went to Pleasant Grove to go country dancing. I also finally used my Barnes and Nobles gift card I got for my birthday. I went for things I've read and know I enjoy. I now own a copy of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and the unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo, both choices I am very excited about. I got to hang out with Rachel, a friend I made while in DC, who moved back to go to Utah to go to school. Anyway, we went to Red Robin, which is one of my favorite burger joints, if not my favorite. I wish I could remember the name of the burger place I went to in DC (not Five Guys) that was close to Capitol Hill, that is probably my all time favorite burger place, even though I only ate there once.
I almost didn't go country dancing b/c of how empty the parking lot was. I have never seen the place so empty, and I went there religiously for almost a year, if not longer. Apparently there is a place in Provo that competes, and since it's closer to all the college students, that's where they went. Anyway, we stood outside talking for about a half hour before I finally got the nerve to go in. I had fun, even though it was sparsely attended. I saw two or three of the regulars that were there when I went over 3 years ago. I actually didn't talk to one of them b/c I didn't know what to say. Odd considering that he used to be one of my favorite dance partners, but I was afraid of my lack of dancing over the last three years. I was afraid I had lost most of my dancing skills, which I am happy to say I didn't. I only danced with three guys, one of them at least 6-8 times. He was a pretty good dancer, but I wanted to dance with someone with a little more skills. I found out that I REALLY am out of shape, which I knew, but was reminded of when I did swing and was completely winded at the end of the songs. I still had a lot of fun, and it was nice to start dancing again. I think I'm going to have to start doing it more regularly, maybe even see if any of the Logan dance spots got a good thing. Rachel and I plan on going to the place in PG at least once a month. I hope the next times we go it will be better attended.
Sunday was a very relaxing day, especially since I was so exhausted from the last night. I slept on a double twin air mattress, and the funny thing is that the upper mattress decided to deflate throughout the night. By the time I got to bed it almost felt like I was in a hammock b/c I sunk in so much. It wasn't bad, and I didn't get the best night's sleep, but I have a hard time sleeping in a bed that isn't my own.
Rachel and I watched "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," which was hilarious and crazy. Some of the outfits and hair-dos made me laugh, as well as the dancing and acting. It was a good movie, and it was the first time I ever saw it. I also saw some people that I used to be in a ward with when I lived in Provo. They were enjoying a lazy Sunday, just as I was, and we just sat and caught up on the last three years. Sadly, that didn't take too long. It was a good weekend, and I'm glad I got to see friends and have so much fun.
